約100年に亘って札幌を走り続けてきた市電。
中心部を四分の三周する一路線が残り、ミッシングリンクとなっていた西4丁目とすすきのの両電停間、札幌駅前通の約450mをつなぐ「都心線」を開業させ環状運転(ループ化)する事業が、構想から約10年の歳月をかけて2015年末に実現した。
札幌の都心の姿が変わる一大イベントでありながら、工事の遅れもあって本格的なPRが直前まであまり計られなかったことを残念に思うとともに、どうせなら「勝手に」盛り上げてしまおうと、ロゴマークやポスターを制作してFacebook・Twitter上に公開した。
また、建設工事の様子の写真をInstagramなどで #hellonewloop のハッシュタグとともにアップしていき、さまざまな方にもご投稿いただいた。
12月19日の開業式典、及び20日の開業一番電車を迎えるため、ネットプリントを使用して小旗も配布。当日は横断幕とともにお祝いした。その様子は北海道新聞、共同通信、NHK、北海道文化放送(UHB)等にも取り上げられた。
また、友人の上田純也さんが「勝手に」CMならびにCMソングを制作、公開して下さった。

開業以降、市電は予想を大きく上回る乗客増を得、メインストリートの両路側を走る姿はすっかり札幌を象徴する風景となっている。
「これからののりもの」の姿を市民にも、そして観光客や他都市にも大きくアピールした市電のループ化を、陰ながらでも盛り上げられたならば、これに過ぎる喜びはない。

[Hello! New Loop – “Selfishly” Project for Sapporo Streetcar extension]

In addition, photos of the construction work were uploaded on Instagram and other websites along with the hashtag of #hellonewloop, and various people also contributed.
Small flags were also distributed using Online prints to greet the opening ceremony on December 19, 2015 and the first train on the next day. The day was celebrated with a banner. The situation was featured in the Hokkaido Shimbun Press, Kyodo News, NHK, and UHB Television.
In addition, a friend Mr. Junya UEDA produced and released a CM and a CM song “selfishly”.

Since its opening, the streetcar has gained much more passengers than expected, and the appearance of running on both sides of the main street is completely a symbol of Sapporo.
It would be nice if the loop of streetcars, which greatly appealed to the citizens as well as tourists and other cities, in the form of “vehicles in the future,” was excited.
