「北一条さっぽろ歴史写真館」は、札幌・北一条通の地下駐車場連絡通路にある常設の写真展示施設。
北海道は開拓期から政府が当時の最新テクノロジーであった写真を公式な記録手段として活用したこともあり、札幌は大都市建設の歴史が写真で詳細かつ多岐にわたって残されている、世界的にも稀有な都市の一つである。
ここでは、北海道の写真家で組織するNPO法人「北海道を発信する写真家ネットワーク(THE NORTH FINDER)」の企画運営により、札幌市などが所蔵する膨大な歴史写真の中から年2回テーマを選び展示している。
今回は、2015年末に環状運転を開始した札幌市電の約100年にわたる歴史をテーマに、開業期から現在に至るまでの写真をセレクトし展示した中に、ウリュウが撮影した3点も展示させていただいた。
2013年に導入された超低床電車「ポラリス」の初搬入風景(2013年3月)、すすきの交差点から駅前通の復活延伸区間に初入線する試運転電車(2015年11月)、そしてループ化開業前日の記念式典で市民に迎えられる祝賀電車(2015年12月19日)。
2018年に電車運行100周年を迎える長い歴史をつなぐとともに、人と環境に優しい”これからののりもの”として全国の大都市に先駆けて延伸と環状運転を果たした札幌市電を、写真をはじめクリエイティブな視点からこれからも応援していく。

“Kita Ichijo Sapporo Historical Photo Gallery” is a permanent photo exhibition facility located in the basement parking passage on Kita-Ichijo Avenue on Sapporo.
In Hokkaido, since the pioneering period, the government has used photography, which was the latest technology at the time, as an official recording means, and Sapporo has a detailed and diverse history of the construction of large cities in Sapporo. One of the rare cities.
Here, the theme is selected and displayed twice a year from the vast historical photographs held by Sapporo City etc. by the planning and operation of the NPO “Hokkaido Originating Photographer Network (The North Finder)” organized by Hokkaido photographers are doing.
This time around the theme of the history of Sapporo Streetcar, which started circular service at the end of 2015, for about 100 years, we selected and displayed photographs from the opening period to the present, and also exhibited three photos taken by URYU.
That’s including First introduction of the “Polaris” ultra-low-floor train introduced in March 2013, Test run train for the first time from Susukino intersection to the extension section (November 2015), and Circular service opening celebration train (December 19, 2015) that will be greeted by citizens at the opening ceremony the day before.
We connecting the long history and the present time. The Sapporo Streetcar as a “future vehicle of the peoples”. I will continue to support by creative perspective including photography.
