I am currently exhibiting at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, and we have received a lot of visits and feedback from “Cabinet of Curiosities : 151 Years of Hokkaido History”. Thank you for all.
On Saturday 22 February, URYU will hold an artist talk.

From 14:30 on the day, 30 minutes in front of the section of the railway and the work of Uryu in the exhibition room, 30 minutes for this work, the journey for me, and the railway that is infrastructure and culture, so far and now And I want to talk about the future.
Prior to URYU, from 14:00, Mr.Keitaro OSHIMA, a video artist who is in charge of the chapter on “Coal Mine” next to him, will be speaking. “Coal mines” and “Railroads” have linked each other and shaped the history of Hokkaido. We hope that you can listen to the talks together with the work.

Artist Talk will be held as scheduled. Please be careful and visit us. I will be welcomes to you at the venue.
A disinfectant solution is always available at the front entrance of the venue, so please use it when you visit.
Winter is a season with many infectious diseases, so if you don’t think it’s going to be good, don’t worry about it. Please do not overdo it.
The talk will be recorded in audio or video format and will be reported on my website at a later date.

[Important Notice] The exhibition closed earlier
As already reported, infectious disease of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pneumonia is expanding in Japan and Hokkaido.
To prevent this, the public education facilities in Hokkaido (Art museums, Libraries, etc.) will be temporary closed from February 29 (Sat).
Along with this, The exhibition “Cabinet of Curiosities : 151 Years of Hokkaido History” currently exhibited at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, will be extremely difficult to resume during the exhibition period until March 15 (Sun) It became a situation.
I think that it is a decision to protect your health and safety as a public facility, but we have created an exhibition created with 5 artists and curators, who have lent valuable historical works and cultural assets Also, the first exhibition at this museum, which I longed for, was virtually closed in the middle of the exhibition due to social circumstances, and I am really filled with regrets.
